Live Reading Picnic & FIU Living Lab Tour
October 9, 2026 | 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
Join Impact.Edition for a special morning of connection, storytelling, and exploration at Florida International University’s Living Lab.
We’ll begin with a live reading picnic featuring stories of local changemakers advancing environmental and social impact across South Florida. Together, we’ll reflect on the power of storytelling to inspire action and strengthen community.
Following the reading, participants will enjoy a guided tour of FIU’s Living Lab, where sustainability comes to life through real-world projects and research. The Living Lab serves as a living classroom and innovation hub, showcasing practical solutions in climate resilience, biodiversity, regenerative design, and the circular economy.
Visitors will explore how materials, resources, and waste streams can be reimagined to create more sustainable systems, while learning how students, researchers, and community partners are testing ideas that can be scaled beyond the university campus.
Whether you’re passionate about sustainability, curious about local innovation, or simply looking for meaningful community connections, this experience offers an opportunity to learn, reflect, and engage with ideas shaping a more resilient future.
