Built to Last: Historic Preservation & Adaptive Reuse and Sustainable Communities
October 8 @ 6:00 pm

A program exploring how preserving, modernizing, and reusing existing buildings can contribute to a more sustainable future for Jacksonville. Hosted at the historic Maceo Elks Lodge #8, originally constructed in 1914, the event will bring together preservation advocates, architects, planners, developers, and sustainability professionals to examine how thoughtful investment in existing buildings strengthens communities, conserves resources, reduces waste, and supports vibrant, walkable neighborhoods. Through two engaging panel discussions and audience dialogue, participants will explore how Jacksonville’s historic places and evolving built environment can work together to shape the city’s future.
