What is Florida Climate Week?

As Florida confronts the growing impacts of extreme heat, stronger storms, rising seas and more, the call to strengthen our resilience has never been more urgent. Florida Climate Week (FCW) offers a moment for communities across the state to come together as one team.

This free, statewide week of climate action takes place annually in October. Unlike a traditional conference, FCW is a community-powered initiative with dozens of independent events happening simultaneously across the state. Virtual events are hosted throughout the week on Whova, FCW’s official event app and web platform, while in-person events take place across South, Southwest, Central, Northeast, and North Florida.

VoLo Foundation is pleased to invite nonprofits, universities, community organizations and engaged citizens committed to preserving Florida’s natural resources and promoting responsible stewardship to apply to host their own events. This year’s FCW will spotlight local solutions and community efforts across areas including health, conservation, economics, water, agriculture, transportation, energy, waste management, biodiversity, industry, policy, climate resilience and beyond.

Best of all, FCW is free and open to all who’d like to attend. Registration will open in September 2026. Follow along for updates.

What is Whova and how do I use it?

Whova is FCW’s official event platform for all virtual programming. You can access it through a free app on your phone or the Whova website. Once registered, you’ll be able to browse sessions, join live or pre-recorded events, and connect with other attendees. The platform remains open for 90 days after the event concludes, so you can continue exploring and networking long after the event ends.

Whova includes built-in networking features that let you browse attendee profiles, send messages, and join community discussions throughout the week. In-person events also provide natural opportunities to meet fellow participants, speakers, and local organizations.

First, make sure you’re logged into Whova with the same email you used to register. If you continue to experience issues, contact the FCW team or visit Whova’s help center for technical support.
